Here we review what the Best Sunglasses for Golf are in 2012.
Kaenon Hard Kore Golf Sunglasses – If you watch professional golf today, it will be hard to not see a professional golfer or caddie wear a pair of Kaenon Golf Sunglasses today. That is because Kaenon manufacturers their very own SR-91 lens material. SR-91 lenses are all Polarized, Shatter Proof, and have an extremely high quality anti-reflective coating. This combination of lens attributes makes wearing the Kaenon Hard Kore Sunglass one of the best choices of golf sunglasses today. The lens quality is second to none, as the polarized lenses combined with the anti-reflective coating cut out almost all glare while ou wear these sunglasses. The only possible drawback to wearing the Kaenon Hard Kore Sunglass for some golfers, is that the frame is fairly large and bulky as most Kaenon Sunglasses are. (This Sunglass can have Prescription Lenses installed) Kaenon Hard Kore Sunglasses Retail Price $209
Tifosi Altar Golf Sunglasses – The Tifosi Altar Golf Sunglass are a great quality golf sunglass that come with 3 sets of interchangeable lenses for different lighting conditions. The Altar comes with Golf Specific Lenses which are specifically designed to allow you to see the texture of the coarse, as well as the lie of the land. The Tifosi Altar does not come with polarized lenses, nor do they have an anti-reflective coating, but the frame is extremely light weight, comfortable, and durable. As with all Tifosi Sunglasses, they offer a lifetime warranty on the sunglass frame against manufacturer defects. (This sunglass is not able to have prescription lenses.) Tifosi Altar Golf Sunglasses Retail $59.95
Bolle Vigilante Golf Sunglasses – The Bolle Vigilanti is probably our best selling Golf Sunglass today. The Bolle Vigilanti Sunglass is extremely comfortable, light weight, and comes with the quality that you would expect from a Bolle Sunglass. The Vigilanti Sunglass is the Chevy 350 of Golf Sunglasses. Been around forever, and there is no reason to change what works. This golf sunglass comes in Matte Black with a Golf Specific lens. If you need prescription sunglasses for golf, this is a great option for you as you can insert a RX Adaptor so that you can have your prescription when you need it, and remove the adaptor when you dont. Having a Golf Sunglass with an RX adaptor rather than having a golf sunglass with your prescription built into the actual lens also keeps the costs down significantly. Bolle Vigilanti Golf Sunglasses Retail $99.99
Sundog Blast Golf Sunglasses – The Sundog Blast is the exact same model as last years Hunter Mahan Signature Sunglass, without the Signature of Hunter Mahan. This is one of Sundogs best selling Sunglasses for Golf. Last year, we had a tough time keeping this sunglass in stock, as it became extremely popular amongst golfers. The Sundog Blast Sunglass does not come with polarized lenses, or an AR coating, but this sunglass does have a try nice design and is fairly light weight. The design is similar to the Kaenon Hard Kore Sunglasses, sporting a thick temple and semi-rimless lens style. Sundog Blast Golf Sunglasses Retail $49.99
My review of these golf sunglasses determine that there is not one pair that is necessarily the best pair of sunglasses for everyone. There are many factors that go into selecting the best pair of golf sunglasses for each individual person.
Price – The Sundog Blast is the least expensive golf sunglass that we reviewed. This sunglass does not offer any of the lens features that the other golf sunglasses offer, but they do offer a good price and a nice design. The Tifosi Altar is slightly more money than the Sundog Blast, and does come with 3 sets of lenses, a hard case, and a lifetime warranty. The Bolle Vigilante Sunglass is the next sunglass in price, and comes in just under $100. This sunglass is a great value, as it has all of the features of the Kaenon Hard Kore Sunglass, that is more than double the price of the Bolle Vigilante. The Kaenon Hard Kore is by far the most expensive Golf Sunglass that we reviewed, and for good reason. The Hard Kore’s A/R Coating alone is equivalent to a $200 A/R Coating that you would get at your optometrist office for your pair of eyeglasses. The Polarized Lenses alone would be an additional $80 upgrade as well, so if you add up what you are getting , the sunglasses seem to be a bargain at $209 if you would like all of the bells and whistles that come with the Kaenon Sunglasses.
Fit – This is a subjective opinion, as each sunglass will fit every person differently, but if I had to rate one of the sunglasses to be the best fit, I would had dot say the Bolle Vigilante usually provides the best fit for most people who try it on. The reason being, is that the Bolle Vigilante Sunglasses are a style and design that has been around forever. This design is not meant to turn heads like the Kaenon Hard Kore or the Sundog Blast, but this sunglass fits nearly everyone who tries it on. The Hard Kore and the Blast are a newer, more modern design, but we do find that some golfers are not used to the thick, bulky temples.
Needs – Depending on your needs, any one of these sunglasses could be best for you. That is why these sunglasses were selected for this article. Remember, we are reviewing the best golf sunglasses for 2012, so depending on your needs, you should be happy with selecting one of these golf sunglasses.
Prescription Lenses – If you need to had ePrescription Lenses in your Golf Sunglasses, that leaves you will two options. The Kaenon Hard Kore Sunglasses and the Bolle Vigilante Sunglasses can both have your prescription installed in them. If you would like your prescription built directly into the lenses, and not have an RX Adaptor to insert behind the lenses, then the Kaenon Hard Kore Sunglass in definitely the best golf sunglass for you. This sunglass will set you back $600+ with your prescription lenses custom made to fit by Kaenon, but they will definitely be the best quality sunglass that you ever wear. If you would like Prescription Golf Sunglasses, and do not want to spend that kind of money, the Bolle Vigilante Sunglasses with an RX Adaptor will cost you about half, and you will still get a top quality sunglass.
Lens Options - If you are looking for Polarized Lenses, than the Kaenon Hard Kore are the Golf Sunglasses for you. If you would like a sunglass that comes with several lens options for different lighting conditions, the Tifosi Altar Sunglass is your only option. If you are not wanting Polarized lenses, or do not feel that you would change the lenses under different lighting conditions, then you can choose from the Bolle Vigilante or the Sundog Blast.
All in all, these can all be great golf sunglasses for you. If you would like to read more about the Best Golf Sunglasses for 2012, you can do so here.
